Hello! Originally from Peru, IL, I currently live in the Iowa City area and work as a full-time Physical Therapist in Cedar Rapids. I graduated from the University of Iowa with my Doctorate of Physical Therapy after attending Saint Louis University for an undergraduate degree in Neuroscience.
Like so many in the art world, I always found myself drawing and painting throughout childhood, often meticulously creating birthday and holiday cards for every single person in my large extended family. Looking back, these things looked terrible, but my family hid it well.
As I grew up and entered college, my passion for art took a backseat to allow room for my passions of science and healthcare to flourish. Towards the end of my undergrad career, I had the opportunity to take a few art electives, and my passion was reignited.
In art, I love portraying the world around me in new ways and, like a true (nerd) scientist, experimenting! Whether it be bright colors, expressive brush strokes, imprecise abstraction, or some other nonspecific thing—creating is candidly and unequivocally a journey. I have no solid idea what I am doing or where I am going with this journey, but I am absolutely loving learning every step of the way.
When not painting or treating patients, I enjoy time playing sports (tennis, volleyball, etc), grabbing a drink with friends, and baking cookies.
